Yay! I got a new job!

I am so excited! I got a new job after being out of work for about 6 months. I was trying to find something that I really wanted, but since nobody was hiring, I figured that some income from anywhere was better than nothing coming in at all. It is kind of scary though. My first impressions of my store manager are not that great: I saw him 3 days in a row and the same uniform shirt just was dirtier and dirtier! I know that my expectations for a clean uniform in a restaurant is better than that! Lol! I may not like it that much, but I see it as an opportunity. Maybe after I have been there a few weeks, I will have the guts to say something about it and to show what I really think, but then that puts me in the position of being a leader again. I don't know if I want to do that for a restaurant again because all they do is suck you in and then spit you right back out.

Next Wednesday, I have an interview with my dream job: being a liquor store clerk. Don't knock it: it is a state job, with benefits, and it pays $11.35 an hour to start, and triple time holiday pay! The only thing that I don't like about it is that it is on call and it is temporary and part time...grrr! But at least it is a shot to get my foot in the door with a good company. I have the opportunity to move up and use my skills from my Bachelor's Business Management Degree program into use.

Granted, I could do that with the restaurant job too, but I don't want to work for a restaurant for the rest of my life when I know that they will not appreciate me or think about my family. The last restaurant job I had worked, I had been there for over 10 years, and they used me until I snapped at my family. I think that it was a blessing in disquise when they let me go...I got to know my beautiful daughter and got her potty-trained. I am more relaxed and happy. Now, I just need to keep that and remember that for when I am working at this new job. I don't like who I become when I am working a job that I don't like. I hope that I can stay happy in whatever job I decide to do and that I don't lose myself within the job. I end up putting my heart and soul into everything that I do, and sometimes it is very hard to say no to something. But I am bound and determined to make this work! At least this job, I am not allergic to, like when I tried to deliver!

New Bracelet!

I have never had much patience for making bracelets, but I got a request for one from one of my mom's coworkers and figured, "why not?" So I am very proud as to how this came out, and it has inspired me to start doing more things like this, which increases the buying potential in my shop...eventually! Lol! This month, I have started to get more sales in my shop, not only online, but off. It looks like the pouring session in my life will slow down to a raining session and then soon to a other words, things are starting to look better!

It is currently with aquamarine and sapphire swarovski crystals, but I can make it to custom order and a different length than 7 1/2 inches also. Just please let me know if you have an interest, and I will do my best to work with you! Have a wonderful day!

Another Part of the Country...

The past 4 days I have spent with family members who I have not seen in over 10 years. It has been an eye-opener! It is like that line that Reese Witherspoon says in the movie Sweet Home Alabama, "...and you have a baby! In a BAR..." I had never thought there were places like that still in the United States...but I found one during my family time! Wow!

I love my cousin dearly, but she, to my surprise, had her wedding ceremony in a bar. Kids of all ages were allowed to be there, as long as they were not drinking underage. It was kind of nice, yet very shocking. Being in that part of the country, made me think that there are simpler ways to life than the hussle and bussle of the city. That part of my family has found peace within themselves and each other that they never had in the city. They have found happiness, love, respect, and joy also.

There is also a great tattoo shop, which is owned by my uncle, called Willows Grove Tattoo. It is part of his house, but the shop has a down to earth feel to it. Everybody in Newcastle, WY knows everybody. Several people throughout the country have come to see my uncle's tattoo shop, on which he has marked on a map hanging above his desk. My cousin and her new husband had my uncle do their rings as tattoos, instead of using actual rings. During the wedding ceremony, they had borrowed rings from family members to trade to each other. I finally found a fitting tattoo that will both honor my deceased daughter and remind me that I still have another child that needs me here on this earth. I have been needing permission to forget my youngest, but remember her, and unfortunately in all my grief, I have been just trying to stay alive and have started to forget my older daughter also. It is not right, but I vow to always do right by her, no matter what that entails, and stop living in the past, playing the "could have, would have, should have, or what if..." games.

Maybe through all my soul searching that I have done lately, I will finally find a place to call "home" for my heart. Everybody in that part of my family were able to do it, and find peace, and one day, soon, I will too.

So I have finally joined Twitter...

You guys can follow me at

It has been quite an experience in learning new ways to market my products in my shop. I had taken a marketing class in college, but it is one thing to read the information and go through the assignments. It is something completely different to actually put the information into action for a living business!

I have only been on twitter for about a week and already have about 200 followers! Very Cool! I am still learning all the little things that I can do with it. Thanks to Tara from Youniquely Chic, I have had some insight on what I can accomplish with using Twitter.

I am the only one that can make myself not make things happen. This is the start of a wonderful adventure! I have lived this long, so I may as well enjoy the ride! Come follow me...

Etsy Day!!!

I have just learned about Etsy Day!

It is where people on Etsy promote Etsy instead of themselves...I don't think that is so hard to do, since I think there are more important things out there than just me.

So, here is to Etsy Day! I have found many new people there which I have found that I enjoy their company and have learned more things there than I ever would have just sitting at home! Etsy is a place where people can present their handmade items to sell, instead of having to wait for a local craft show. Everything handmade is able to be put on Etsy! Wow! When you stretch your imagination...just imagine all the things that you could get from one place, instead of having to buy it from an overpriced stuck up company that does not care about its customers. One thing that I have found is that Etsians care about each other, which is nice to see!

So go check it out...anything handmade... You will find something that you like there, and then eventually if you keep looking, you will fall in love with it too!

The kindness of others...

It amazes me to find there are really nice people in the world when it seems like there is hate and sadness everywhere you look or hear about on the news. I have been nice to people, but had it used against me, so for a little while, I was not as nice, but I was not mean either.

The latest random act of kindness that somebody has shown me is Denise. She redid my banner, and then asked me what I thought of it. I liked it, especially when she put in my favorite color! Actually, I fell in LOVE with it! I have been trying to make everything perfect in my shop, and learning on the way. It is nice to see other people willing to help me out, when they do not even know me!

Being kind to others makes one feel great in one's heart! In February, I was feeling down. So I paid for somebody else's order in a local drive thru. The restaurant did not like it, because it had to get the manager to allow two transactions on one credit card, but then it realized that I was paying for the customer behind me, when I did not even know them, and the employees stopped growling at me in the windows. I felt better, if nothing else, just for the day, and even though I had to go and did not get a chance to be thanked, I know that person had a better day too.

There are times when everybody's circles are intertwined, making everybody realize that the best way to help themselves is to help other people also. This is what creates great communities, friendships, and most important of all: families. The more that I meet people on Etsy, the more I see a great community around me, even if the community at my physical location is not that great.

For more great experiences from really wonderful people, make sure you check out the shop links which are posted below!

New items and new pictures!!!

I am so glad to present in my shop not only new items, but also new photos! I had some problems with my photos either looking blurry or absolutely horrible! The people at Etsy have been so great that they showed me about the macro feature on the camera. Some of the pictures still do not look that great, but then David told me about using a light box, so I will be updating pictures AGAIN using that also. Some of the pictures have been posted here. Go check it out!

Hi Guys!

Thank you for visiting me! My name is Dawn, and my shop is, which specializes in handmade earrings, but also will be showcasing my other hobbies that I have done throughout my life. I am constantly looking for new ideas, so if you ever see any of my items that you wold like in a different color, please ask me to see if I have the color you would like, and I will make a special order for you.

From my shop, any profits made through sold baby items will be put into a bank account dedicated to Children's Hospital, in rememberance of my daughter, who died from Tetralogy of Fallot, a fatal heart condition. The money will be given to the hospital on her birthday, December 10th of every year my shop is open. I may not be able to bring her back, but I can donate to help other kids who get help from them, so that less parents will go through what our family has gone through.

I would like to take this time to give props to three sellers on Etsy that have huge hearts and have shown me thatthere are still wonderful people in the world. Go check out their shops:

I have not known these people very long, but their work is gorgeous and they make me laugh and have a great day by the end of our conversations!
